Each project that Savener undertakes involves its own challenges and it is because of this desire to lead Research and Innovation through the use of the latest generation tools and maximum efficiency, as well as to maintain its level of competitiveness and strategic development, that it has acquired two new softwares: CYPE Connect and PLAXIS 2D.
CYPE Connect is a tool that allows our engineers to model and calculate joints between steel or even timber elements, using the finite element method.
This application uses the OpenSees calculation engine, which is widely used throughout the world and enjoys great prestige as the calculation engine of reference among academics and professional experts in advanced structural calculation. It is also widely used to simulate the behaviour of structural and geotechnical systems subjected to earthquakes, as its name indicates (Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation).
In addition, Plaxis 2D, a software that gives us the opportunity to perform advanced finite element or limit equilibrium analyses of soil and rock deformation and stability, soil structure interaction, as well as groundwater flow and heat, has recently been acquired.
The facility to analyse the deformation and stability of projects, ranging from excavations, embankments and foundations to tunnelling, mining and geomechanics, is a major step forward in Savener’s ongoing search for efficient solutions for its customers.
