Savener is currently immersed in the engineering design of the Shuweihat reverse osmosis desalination plant, with a production capacity of 318,225 m³/day of desalinated water and located in the western region of the United Arab Emirates, within the “Shuweihat Power Station” complex.
This complex project, which has just successfully completed the IFD (Issue For Design) phase of 4 of its main buildings: the Reverse Osmosis Building, the Tank Farm whose scope includes the foundations of 3 tanks of 100 metres in diameter and 20 metres in height, the Electrical Substation for which the engineering design has been carried out and the Gravity Filter, is starting the IFC Phase of the same.
At the same time, the IFD of other buildings are starting to be developed, such as the Cartridge Filter Building, filtering prior to reverse osmosis, the Flushing Tank Building, where the permeated water arrives after osmosis or the DAF for the first stage of pre-treatment of the desalination plant.
To obtain all the detailed engineering drawings Savener uses the latest technology in BIM and AI methodology, a perfect combination that helps to achieve a very high level of detail in record time, as can be seen in the shape drawings, with their corresponding levels, slab thicknesses, walls, etc., reinforcement drawings and architectural drawings.
The great challenge of this project lies in the millimetric coordination between the teams of the main actors of this project, Savener and the leader in the desalination sector GS Inima.
Although the IFC phase of all the buildings is scheduled for completion in September 2024, the main buildings are expected to be completed well in advance and construction is expected to begin shortly.
