Airbus has undertaken a plan to improve and update (beyond the regulatory requirements) the fire fighting installations of the San Pablo Factory. Savener has developed a large part of the upgrade design of this infrastructure and at the same time is carrying out the Works Management of the different improvement solutions developed by our firm.
In this case we would like to share the completion of the Works Management tasks of the project for the adaptation of the Fire Protection Installation under the Beluga Platform.
One of the biggest challenges facing Savener is to keep the Beluga programme in service at all times, for which the coordination work between the Factory’s managers and the Contractor carrying out the actions is essential, for which the development of the work has been considered in two different phases.
The actions develop the improvement and adaptation of the operation of the automatic fire extinguishing systems in a highly limited environment due to the configuration of the platform itself and the maintenance of the operation of the plant. The project, in addition to the fire-fighting installation, addresses all the auxiliary installations that surround a project of this size.
Another of the factors that the Savener team had to resolve was the proposal of materials that would meet the needs for the implementation of the sectorisation elements required in this project. These materials had to offer solutions not only to the technical requirements of the improvement, but also to the high standards demanded by Airbus and the demand for more and better environmental criteria.
Thanks to the good work and excellent coordination of the Savener team, the Airbus managers and the construction company, who have worked together to achieve the established objectives, this first phase of development has been completed in a highly successful manner.
