According to the planned roadmap, and after having started with the execution of the works of the Biomass Steam Generation Plant in the West area (Phase I), Airbus will continue with the replacement of humidification equipment with high electricity consumption in the East area of the Illescas factory, with a new Biomass Steam Generation Plant (Phase II), thus following the strategy set internally in Airbus by the VISION 2030 programme for the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
This new Biomass steam generation plant will have a production capacity of 2,400 kg/h, with a redundancy of 70% and will avoid the emission of 2,539.95 Tn CO2 /year into the atmosphere, together with the plant under construction in the West area.
The Airbus Illescas Factory, with the help of Savener and its team of specialists as technological partner, thus opens the way to a new energy model in the Airbus Factories, betting strongly on alternative energy sources of Zero Emissions, which is another step towards the energy transformation of the Spanish Industry.
