On 28th June 2018, the Mayor of Seville, Mr Juan Espadas Cejas, opened the complete reform of the Tiro de Línea Sports Centre swimming pool in accordance with the design drawn up by Savener and after the works done by the Municipal Sports Institute of Seville for the building of the Retractable Moving Roof. This means that local residents will regain an infrastructure that had become obsolete, with a renovated surface area of more than 1,900 m2.
The retracting metal sections, resting on concrete supporting porticos, and wide-opening extensive glass surfaces form part of a versatile swimming pool that can be used intensively in winter and opened up in summer so that the facilities can be enjoyed with the green areas that are included in the area of the sports complex.
The roof of the swimming pool opens up completely in around four minutes, which is remarkable considering the features of this type of roof.
